School Accountability

With the passage of Proposition 98 in 1988, the schools of California are required to prepare an annual School Accountability Report Card assessing the condition of various performance areas. The Reports are compiled once per year. The content of this report card is to inform our local community about their schools´ performance and conditions. In order to compile the information some of the state and local reports used were: California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS), STAR testing data, and various school financial documents. State Accountability: API The API is the centerpiece of the statewide accountability system in California public education. The Public Schools Accountability Act (PSAA) of 1999 (Chapter 3, Statutes of 1999) requires that the California Department of Education (CDE) annually calculate APIs for California public schools, including charter schools, and publish school rankings based on these APIs. more... Federal Accountability: AYP A statewide accountability system mandated by the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 which requires each state to ensure that all schools and districts make Adequate Yearly Progress. |
